Necropolis is the first book I read in quarter 2. Its the last book in the series The Gatekeepers written by Anthony Horowitz. In the first three books Matt met Pedro, Scott and Jamie but they have to find the last one, the only girl named Scarlet. Her dad works in a company called Night Rise. But like many other workers, he doesn't know that their boss works for the Old Ones- an army of shape changers, fly army, gigantic animals and their leaders is a monster with human form but looks like nothing but a shadow that can even reach the sky if he wants to. They were beaten and locked up in gates by the Gatekeepers in 10000 years ago that if someone open it, they will get out and destroy the world because they live on the miserable of animals and people.
When Scarlet's father's boss knows that his daughter is One of the Five, he says to Scarlet's dad that if he brings Scarlet to him, he will return her within few days and they will be rich. Then Scarlet's dad got fooled and demands Scarlet to come from England to Hong Kong. The Nexus and Matt tried to stop her but they was late. There's another organization in Hong Kong which also help the Gatekeepers. They tried many times but every time, there's a mistake of someone and at last, Scarlet can escape then they come into a temple which has a door that can teleport the Gatekeepers to other 24 doors in the world. but they come into it after they escape from the typhoon that Scarlet made it to come to Hong Kong so they come into the door right when the temple collapsed so none of them knows where they're going and now they are far apart again.
